Jasmine Rose Penter, LCSW

Ignite, LLC was born during a time when I was wrestling with finding my own inner strength, challenged to take a leap that put me outside of my comfort zone- to do something I loved passionately- and to stop doing something I had previously loved deeply. This experience, along with years of working with people experiencing their own unique transitions, keeps me inspired daily to ignite that strength in others.Jasmine+Penter+9-12-13+%281164+o-2817508648-O

I was born in Modesto, California but raised in Springfield, Oregon. I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Portland, Oregon and have traveled to Thailand, Belize, Mexico, Canada, & South Korea. My previous professional experience includes working at a truancy center, an adolescent group home, in a public elementary school, after-school programs, in a residential setting for families with no homes, with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness, and in hospice.  Just before I opened my practice full time I worked at a local hospital and inpatient rehabilitation unit as a medical social worker/care manager.

My counseling private practice includes individuals and families with a focus on tweens to young adults and their parents or guardians. My fields of specialty include hospice, grief and loss, mental illness, young adults, and life transitions. I’ve been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy) which is particularly helpful for those with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).  Additionally I do have an in house therapy kitty named Sullivan “Sully” and one of my dogs, Psy is known to pop as an emotional support dog.  I offer in-person (socially distanced) counseling sessions at my office in Eugene, as well as secure teletherapy sessions. My services are affordable with a sliding scale fee or billing through most insurance providers. Please email joregonrose (at) ProtonMail (dot) com for more information.

I completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Southern California and I have a Bachelors of Social Work at Chatham University.  In my spare time, I enjoy time with my spouse Jeremy & critters (4 dogs + fish), photography, playing soccer, practicing as a Black Belt in Taekwondo, reading, writing, scrapbooking, painting, playing board games, and enjoying quality time with my loved ones.
